02-15-20 DaNang and back to Tokyo

Up early -- probably  in part  because I wasn't hungry for dinner last  night so am now hungry!

It's  early but "Umm" opens  in  about 30 minutes and  is right  around the corner.   I'm  going to  grab a  breakfast  Bahn Mi (probably another egg & bacon one)  to stave off the  hunger until

around  9am when Bob and  Shirley will be up and  ready  for  breakfast (and I  for 'second breakfast').     

waiting for the  grand entrance (or in this case exit) of Bob and Shirley  so that  we  could head for the  Mi Quang  stand in the city

Then it was  off  by a "grab" car over a  bridge which  had a nice view of the Dragon  Bridge on our way...

We arrived!   Same Mi  Quang place as  a  few days  ago!

and after  that great breakfast some coffee!

We headed back to the apartment for a 30 minute rest until the Windsor Tea House opens at 10:30am.    We'll be walking back there for some dessert snacks and/or tea shortly!

Then it was back to the apartment for a bit followed by a final lunch of Bahn Xeo at Ms' Nes.

A quick pack and a grab car later to the airport...

Boy was I glad that I paid the extra few dollars to be in the "VIP Boarding Pass" line.   The regular line was "disneyland", but I got to skip it and head right to a private counter window!!!  Hurrah!

Off to the gate after cleaning outbound immigration/customs... interesting 'fountain' of a dragon just before the gate area.

After an hour and a half wait I boarded the "bus" which took us to the plane and then onto the plane.   Pretty cramped, full and uncomfortable 4.5 hour flight back to

Japan.   The food I'd ordered (some rice and chicken dish) was not worth eating -- I had a little of the rice but skipped the rest.  Ugh

After landing in Tokyo Haneda I walked the mile from the gate to customs/immigration (why is it always such a HUGE walk?) and cleared without trouble.   After retrieving my one checked bag I 

walked outside and was able to get an Uber to take make to Hotel MyStays Haneda (only a 3-4 minute drive) because at 2am there is only UBER & cab service available.    Checked in, took an "uber hot shower" (to try and get clean from the plane ride) and went to sleep!
