So still getting over the nasty bug, but around 1pm today I was suddenly able to drink and eat again, which is a really really good sign.
Despite this I decided to cancel my trip to Shanghai - just a little to risky to fly if I'm not really over this by tomorrow morning and I am much more comfortable with the
thought of seeking medical attention (if necessary) in Hong Kong than in Shanghai. Hopefully I'll be all better tomorrow anyway, but it will give me a few more days in
Hong Kong to make up for yesterday's down time and to ramp up to eating again (get back on that horse!)
Spent some time cancelling and rebooking flights, hotels and tours as needed to that I was squared away with my extended stay here in Hong Kong
(same room, just a few more days and a few more HK$'s) and new flight from HKG to ICN direct for mid-day on Wednesday December 6th.
I vacated the room so that house keeping could come a clean, though being a thoughtful traveller the room was already pretty clean by the time I let them in.
They were taking a while so I took a walk and found a large supermarket. Oddly it has the symbol of a sitting dog, which kind of confused me a bit.
I plan on going back there in an hour with some local currency (I'd left mine in the room) and buying some saltines, a few fuyu-permsimmons, some of my own
bottled fizzy water and a few snacks to stock the room. Room service was nice, but quite expensive vs just carting these items in myself.
It looked like the check out registers might also take my credit cards (I had a few of them on me) but I didn't want to risk an issue if they didn't as there were
a lot of people in line.
On my way back from the market I ran into a street "toy" which reminded me of the movie "Big" Here is a little video I shot of it:
Just resting up tonight - hopefully will resume my travel activities tomorrow.
