Flew from SFO to Narita Tokyo in a nice United Polaris Business Class "cocoon". It was an 11+ hour flight, but I was able to eat, sleep and watch movies in comfort.
After landing it was a quick stroll through immigration and customs and then onto the train area to purchase a round trip N'EX ticket for the ride
to Tokyo Station. The ride took a little under an hour and then I used my google maps to walk to my hotel, the Yaesu Terminal Hotel which was
about a 5 minute walk from where my train stopped.
After checking in I went to find the restaurant I had found on the Internet for dinner (Tsujihan – Seafood Donbori Restaurant).
The entrance is very nondescript and actually in an alley off the main street. The only reason I found it was the line had grown to the point where it was obvious that
something was there!
One actually orders while in line -- see the menu below:
Once invited inside the meal was almost ready to serve with the chef putting the final touches on the next 4 or 6 of
us that had been waiting in line:
The meal was a huge bowl of rice and sashimi. I'd ordered the "extras" which included a huge amount of roe and uni. Once one had finished the bowl
they added more rice to the same bowl and a "sea bream" soup with various fixings, including some sashimi that one dipped into the soup.
Finished dinner and headed back towards Tokyo Station to look for a parfait dessert place, but I never managed to find it... Oh well!
I was full enough and headed back to the hotel and slept!
