Woke up Sunday morning and headed to breakfast only to discover that the road was blocked by a marathon! I waited a little, thinking it would pass quickly, but realized when I saw a runner with a number around 25,000 that this was going to be a while!
Fortunately I thought about it for a bit and realized I could "tunnel" under the road by using the subway access points. Made my way underground across the street and finished walking to the
morning dumpling stop! Restaurant called "Jia Jia Tang Bau" which is a little hole in the wall that makes made-to-order soup dumplings.
I ordered the shrimp and pork filled ones...
After breakfast I took the subway to the "Science and Technology Museum". Most of the exhibits were not something I was that interested in, though there was one section with machines and technology that was a little interesting --
I left the museum and headed to a different neighborhood with a restaurant I'd found on the internet that had good peking duck.
Made up my "duck" packet and ate it all!
After a bit of rest off to Yang's for some fried soup dumplings!
After a rest it was time to head out to dinner. I had joined a food tour...
A pulled pork in a fried pastry dish from a roll up street side window...
Various meats - goose, pork and pork belly from a diner...
Pineapple Bread and a pudding of tapioca, mango, pomelo and coconut milk...
Beef, Noodle and veggie stir-fry
Next stop a pastry window...
For one of these...
Then onto another restaurant...
for some hard liquor...
and various dishes...
A gluten dish---
Crunchy Jellyfish...
A fried fish dish...
and something else...
Turns out we had a special visitor!
Then onto ANOTHER restaurant for a special treat-- Braised Rabbit Heads!
YUM!
Along with some fried gluten in a sweet coating...
And some dumplings in a soup broth -- spicy!
And a final dish of soup dumplings---
