My welcome aboard box of two chocolates from United Airlines -- a welcome start to my journey!
The rest of the meal(s) were a little more blurry after a flight of three white wines and some warn nuts!
A set of nice dinner rolls with butter and olive oil, some nori-wrapped ahi and a nice salad
followed by a main course of a soba noodle and chicken dish in a coconut milk spicy broth (rather Thai style)
Later in the flight there was a nice cheese plate too
We had a breakfast of an omelette, but I forgot to snap a photo...
After making my way through customs I stopped at the MRT desk and purchased an express round-trip airport to Hong Kong Central card as well as an "Octopus" MRT card loaded with $100 HKD (about $15)
to let me use the subway without having to visit the per ticket windows. Made my way on the express train to Hong Kong Central and then walked to the MRT "island line" and took it three stops to get off at the
Causeway Bay station.
It took me a few minutes of going the "wrong way" to walk to the hotel -- I'm just not good with iPhones and google maps. No harm done. Checked in and made it to my room, photos below:
I have a nice view out my window too:
It was too late to goto any of the restaurants at that point (almost 11pm) so I walked around the corner and found a hawker stand that was selling
some type of tofu or bean curd balls and shrimp shumai along with the famous "hong kong" waffles. That was my dinner!
After that I went to bed!
