Woke up this morning feeling much better. Headed down to the hotel breakfast area about 7am and had a nice meal of fresh fruit, cereal(s), breads, salad and rice. Also had two glasses of OJ and some nice tea.
After breakfast read a little in my room and then headed down to the pool area to read a little more (didn't swim, but wanted to see the area and get a little outdoor time)
Met with Bob and Shirley around 10:00a and headed out on a walk towards a more upscale and mall district (Gurney?). It was a nice walk, along the
ocean front. Along there way there were several local restaurants. Here's a photo of part of the walk:
In one of the malls there was a train set -- here's a photo for my friend Marty back in Hawaii:
Bought a pair of nicer sandals for the rest of the trip -- too hot to keep wearing sneakers!
Took a cab back to hotel and dropped off old shoes then walked behind hotel to a restaurant a block away. On the way we passed some
hawker stands -- one of which has the wonderful "milk coffee" or "milk tea" that I like so much. Filed it away for later today or tomorrow.
For lunch we ate at a restaurant that had more "american" food. I actually got a burger and ate about half of it, along with 2 pieces of garlic bread and more tea.
Shirley got a great mushroom soup and a salad and Bob got a chicken dish.
Shirley and her mushroom soup!
Bob takes his garlic bread seriously
My "bacon" cheeseburger. Bacon was actually 'beef' bacon.
After lunch we headed back to the hotel and I went back to my room for a long nap. Still low energy, but all is well otherwise!
Headed out to dinner with Bob and Shirley around 6pm. We decided to goto a local Tapas place they have been to as it would be lots of small plates of food that I could try.
On the way I amused by the "parking" that goes on here. They tell me this was "minor" compared to some of the things they've seen -- that WOULD be the sidewalk you're seeing!
The restaurant and some of what we ordered:

The staff was kind enough to pose for a group photo and the chef also let them take a photo of all of us with him
Wow! What a great meal!!
We walked back towards the hotel and I spotted another restaurant sign I had to take this picture of. Shirley then said I had to see the house that had
used sinks as outdoor planter boxes... So I took a picture of that too
Funny cafe sign -- wonder what they serve?
creative use of sinks outside!
Got back to the hotel and headed up to the room to go back to sleep! Tomorrow morning we'll go out for Breakfast at a place nearby before
eventually heading to the airport for our flight to Bangkok Thailand...
